Resumo

Enfoca a importância do controle da Polícia para o êxito da democracia. Identifica e analisa tipos de controle externo e interno sobre a Polícia existentes no Brasil, sua eficácia e responsáveis por seu emprego. Observa méritos e deficiências do controle da atividade policial no país. Apresenta as inovações de controle interno da Polícia Militar, contidas em modelo implantado no Comando de Policiamento da Capital (Minas Gerais), denominado Controle Científico da Polícia.

THE POLICE CONTROL IN BRAZIL: AN INTRODUCTION TO SCIENTIFIC CONTROL OF THE POLICE


ABSTRACT: It focuses on the importance of police control for the success of democracy. It identifies and analyzes the types of external and internal control over the Police in Brazil, their effectiveness and responsible for their employment. It observes merits and deficiencies in the control of police activity in the country. It presents the innovations of internal control of the Military Police, contained in a model implanted in the Police Command of the Capital (Minas Gerais), called Scientific Control of the Police.
