A IMPORTÂNCIA DA ATIVIDADE DE INTELIGÊNCIA DE SEGURANÇA PÚBLICA NA PREVENÇÃO CRIMINAL

Resumo

Neste artigo discute-se a importância da Atividade de Inteligência de Segurança Pública na prevenção criminal. Para realizar efetiva prevenção, evidencia-se a proposta apresentada pela Escola de Prevenção Criminal, que tem o objetivo de alcançar a segurança pública e a paz social por meio da prevenção do crime, ao utilizar o exercício da Inteligência. Conceitua-se a Atividade de Inteligência de Segurança Pública e apresentam-se as origens históricas e a evolução da atividade de inteligência no Brasil. O conhecimento produzido pela Inteligência de Segurança Pública tem papel significativo na prevenção criminal, por servir de subsídio, de caráter estratégico, ao tomador de decisão, na elaboração de políticas públicas vinculadas à análise de cenários e prospecção, assim como pela sua capacidade de reduzir o emprego de força pela polícia nos encontros com o público.

THE IMPORTANCE OF THE PUBLIC SAFETY INTELLIGENCE ACTIVITY IN CRIMINAL PREVENTION

Abstract: This article discusses the importance of the Public Security Intelligence Activity in crime prevention. To conduct effective prevention, the proposal is evidenced presented by  the Crime Prevention School that aims to achieve public safety and social peace by preventing crime, by using the exercise of intelligence. Conceptualizes to Public Security Intelligence Activity and presents the historical origins and evolution of intelligence activity in Brazil. The knowledge produced by the Public Security Intelligence plays a significant role in crime prevention, to provide support, strategic character, the decision-maker, in the development of public policies related to scenario analysis and exploration, as well as for its ability to reduce the use of force by the police in meetings with the public.
