PELA LEI E PELA GREI: a célula mater da Polícia Militar de Minas Gerais

Resumo

ABSTRACT: O processo de institucionalização e consolidação da célula mater da Polícia Militar de Minas Gerais é permeado pela participação das comunidades locais (grei), que sensíveis às determinações régias (lei), se engajaram na  construção de uma instituição que tinha como missão o controle da violência e execução das Políticas da Ordem nas Minas setecentistas. Por questões  geopolíticas sui generis, esse corpo militar atingiu uma especialização policial precoce e se tornou referência como gendarmes. Ele foi constituído sob a égide da racionalização administrativa do período pombalino e recebeu o treinamento militar mais avançado de sua época.

FOR THE LAW AND FOR THE GREI: the maternal cell of the Military Police of Minas Gerais.


ABSTRACT: The process of institutionalization and consolidation of the maternal cell of the Military Police of Minas Gerais is permeated by the participation of the local communities (grei), who are sensitive to the royal determinations (law), engaged in the construction of an institution whose mission was control violence and execution of the policies of the Order in the eighteenth-century Minas Gerais. For reasons sui generis geopolitical, this military body reached an early police specialization and became reference as gendarmes. It was constituted under the aegis of administrative rationalization of the Pombaline period and received the most advanced military training of its time.
