ORQUESTRA SINFÔNICA DA POLÍCIA MILITAR DE MINAS GERAIS: um resgate histórico

Resumo

Esta pesquisa apresenta uma pequena história da Orquestra Sinfônica da Polícia Militar de Minas Gerais, construída através de fontes primárias e secundárias. Apesar de a Orquestra existir nos dias atuais, este trabalho se restringiu a abordar apenas o período compreendido entre 1934 a 1966, com os seguintes propósitos: a) mostrar o início da Orquestra constituído pelas 1ª e 2ª fases; b) possibilitar, ao leitor que não conhece a história da Orquestra, perceber a importância que ela teve no cenário mineiro e brasileiro, através dos principais acontecimentos e personagens; c) apresentar a Escola de Formação Musical, assim como sua relevância como trabalho social. Através desta pesquisa inédita, é possível perceber como a PMMG, por meio da sua Orquestra, tornou-se nacionalmente e até internacionalmente conhecida, pois é um orgulho nacional, não apenas pela qualidade da música e dos músicos mineiros, mas também pelo trabalho social desenvolvido com crianças no ensino da música.

SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA OF THE MINAS GERAIS MILITARY POLICE: a historical rescue

Abstract: This research presents a short history of the Military Police Symphony Orchestra of Minas Gerais, built through primary and secondary sources. Although the Orchestra exists today, this work was restricted to only the period from 1934 to 1966, with the following purposes: a) to show the beginning of the Orchestra constituted by the 1st and 2nd phases; b) make it possible for the reader who does not know the history of the Orchestra to realize the importance it had in the Brazilian and Brazilian scenario, through the main events and characters; c) present the Music Training School, as well as its relevance as social work. Through this unpublished research, it is possible to PMMG, through its Orchestra, has become nationally and even internationally known, because it is a national pride, not only for the quality of the music and the musicians of Minas Gerais, but also for the social work developed with children in the teaching of music.
