PLANNING AND EMPLOYMENT IN THE MILITARY POLICE OF MINAS GERAIS

ABSTRACT: The Brazilian Public Administration, in general, is based on the bureaucratic administrative model, which is the case of practically all the organs of the direct administration of the State of Minas Gerais and, more specifically, its
Military police. However, recently, in 2003, the State Government launched the so-called Management Shock Program, based on managerialism, emphasizing reforms, mainly in the fiscal and social defense areas, forcing them to change and adapt to established state macro-policies in the aforementioned Program. In the specific case of the PMMG, changes related to the reconfiguration of its organizational architecture and personnel admission policies have received special attention. However, perhaps due to its rooted culture, based on the Weberian model, some aspects are probably not aligned with the state policies, especially with respect to the planning and distribution of effective, motivating fact of the present study.
